Goulds Water Technology Extends Industry-Leading Training in Georgia

Water industry professionals can obtain credits through online courses

SENECA FALLS, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Goulds
Water Technology
(GWT), a Xylem brand, is pleased to announce the
approval for its Basic Water Systems Training and Variable Frequency
Drives (VFD) e-Learning courses for continuing education units (CEUs) in
the state of Georgia. This online training program, an extension of the
Goulds Water Technology Factory School, offers the courses to water
industry professionals at no cost.

The state of Georgia requires four continuing education hours per
license application or renewal for the water well industry. Both courses
have been approved for well drillers and pump installers to receive two
CE hours each upon completion.

The Basic Water Systems Training course focuses on the water well
industry and covers topics ranging from pump basics, discharge
conditions, understanding pump curves, sizing and selecting pumps,
pressure storage tanks and more.

The Variable Frequency Drives course teaches what a VFD is and how it
works. Participants can explore a typical VFD system and understand the
role each component plays in maintaining constant water pressure as well
as the effect of motor speed on pump performance. Participants can also
examine the various VFD system types and learn how to select, size and
start up a system properly. Finally, participants are able to
familiarize themselves with common VFD failure modes, troubleshooting
tools and steps they can take up front to minimize problems over time.

“As we expand our course offerings, we look forward to creating more
opportunities for industry professionals to earn CE credits through the
GWT Factory School and e-Learning program,” said Tom Stephan, Training
Manager, GWT Factory School. “Goulds Water Technology strives to
continuously improve our industry-leading training and education
program, and we are excited that the Basic Water Systems and Variable
Frequency Drives courses are now approved for CE credit in Georgia.”

The e-learning courses can be accessed from any computer, tablet or
smartphone with Internet connectivity. A certificate is provided for
registrants to print upon completion of each course. For more
