Global Geopolymers Market – Forecast to Grow at a CAGR of 33.8% by 2021 – Research and Markets

DUBLIN–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The "Global
Geopolymers Market 2017-2021"
report has been added to Research
and Markets'
offering.

The global geopolymers market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 33.84%
during the period 2017-2021.

The report has been prepared based on an in-depth market analysis with
inputs from industry experts. The report covers the market landscape and
its growth prospects over the coming years. The report also includes a
discussion of the key vendors operating in this market.

The latest trend gaining momentum in the market is the increasing
prominence of EU ETS. Since the inception of the EU, there have been
intense discussions over the implementation of a uniform tax code under
Environmental Tax Reforms (ETRs) or the introduction of a comprehensive
incentive scheme for emission reduction. The EU Emissions Trading Scheme
(ETS), which was launched in 2005, is one of the largest greenhouse gas
emission trading schemes. Institutions participating in the scheme are
set a maximum cap on emissions, and allowances are allocated. These
allowances are auctioned off and subsequently traded. Implementation of
this scheme has resulted in a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in
the region.

One of the major drivers for this market is the economic benefits of
geopolymer concrete. Compared with Portland cement concrete, geopolymer
concrete offers several economic benefits. The cost of one metric ton of
fly ash or blast furnace slag is only a small fraction of the cost of
one metric ton of Portland cement. After adding the cost of alkaline
liquids that are required to the make the geopolymer concrete from fly
ash or blast furnace slag, the cost of Portland cement concrete still
remains higher than geopolymer concrete with similar performance. In
addition, geopolymer concrete is a low-carbon alternative to Portland
cement concrete.
