Gemedy Announces New ‘SKEIN’ Software for Detecting Hidden Influence
New Gemedy SKEIN™ software suite uses machine learning to discover
hidden networks of influence in big data.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Gemedy,
an intelligent software and systems company, today announced the release
of its new enterprise software suite, Gemedy SKEIN™, which enables
organizations to strengthen their strategic positions by detecting
hidden influence that other entities are having on their customers,
partners, employees, suppliers, competitors, environments, and markets.
Additionally, it enables organizations to maximize their own influence.
In the past year, awareness has grown of the power of small online
actions to exert disproportionately large real-world influence. Gemedy
SKEIN – a System for Knowledge Extraction via Influence Networks –
provides an intuitive web interface that allows enterprise users to scan
a range of data sources and time scales for evidence of such influence.
SKEIN then visualizes any uncovered networks of influence and provides
recommendations for either leveraging or counteracting those networks.
"Today's release of SKEIN is an example of Gemedy's technical leadership
in machine learning and artificial intelligence," said Dr.
Alex Wissner-Gross, President and Chief Scientist of Gemedy.
"SKEIN’s ability to detect and exploit causal relationships that might
otherwise go unnoticed helps enterprises maximize the value of their
existing data."
SKEIN supports a variety of industrial verticals and applications,
including:
-
Advertising: Detecting and maximizing the influence of
advertising on behavior -
Energy & Utilities: Anticipating supply and demand
fluctuations -
Financial Services: Tracing risk through financial and
insurance markets - Healthcare: Identifying the sources of infectious disease
- Manufacturing: Determining root causes of faults in factories
-
Retail: Measuring the effect of pricing changes on shopper
behavior -
Security & Defense: Detecting and responding to cyber
threats -
