Eaton’s Advanced LED Lighting and Controls System Installed at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida

SYRACUSE, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Power management company Eaton today announced that its advanced Ephesus
LED sports lighting and controls system is being installed at Daily’s
Place, the 5,500-person capacity amphitheater and 94,000-square foot
covered flex field adjacent to EverBank Field that will serve as the
indoor practice facility for the National Football League’s (NFL)
Jacksonville Jaguars. Featuring industry-leading control functions, the
LED system enhances the viewing experience for spectators while reducing
energy use by as much as 75 percent.

The construction of Daily’s Place represents phase two of a $90 million
investment in EverBank Field through a partnership between the Jaguars
and the City of Jacksonville. The amphitheater opened on May 27, while
the covered flex field is on schedule for the opening of Jaguars
training camp in July.

“We’re very happy with our choice in Eaton,” said Nik Sobic, director,
Strategic Initiatives, Jaguars. “We’ve compared their products to
competitors in the market and feel like we’ve received excellent value
regarding performance. Eaton offers solutions for sports and
color-changing effect lighting, both of which are sure to complement fan
and player experience at our new facility.”

Daily’s Place will be lit with Eaton’s Ephesus All Field fixtures and
controlled by the innovative LandBurst wired DMX system, which will
allow for the simultaneous control of both the white indoor lighting
over the flex field and outdoor color lighting across the entire facility.
The roof of Daily’s Place will be illuminated with Ephesus Prism
RGBA fixtures, which will allow for a myriad of colorful lighting
options and entertainment features.

Eaton’s Ephesus light-emitting diode sports lighting product line
provides optimal lighting that illuminates more uniformly on the
playing surface and offers an improved stage for players and fans
watching live and on high-definition television. The system is easy to
install, requires little to no maintenance for years and offers the
lowest total operating costs compared to other traditional sports
lighting systems.

“Since we installed one of the first solid-state lighting system in a
North American sports arena, facility operators and team executives have
come to understand that our digital lighting solutions offer a distinct
advantage when compared to conventional LED lights in creating an
enhanced stage for fans and performers,” said Mike Lorenz, president,
Eaton’s Ephesus Lighting business. “The versatility of our system will
provide visitors to Daily’s Place with the highest quality lighting and
unique and entertaining light shows.”

This Eaton solution continues the rapid acceptance of LED lighting at
sports and entertainment venues of all sizes across North America.
Hundreds of facilities have made the switch to Eaton’s LED sports
lighting system including: University of Phoenix Stadium (Arizona
Cardinals); Hard Rock Stadium (Miami Dolphins); PNC Park (Pittsburgh
Pirates); Bridgestone Arena (Nashville Predators); and the historic
Martinsville Speedway in Virginia — the first NASCAR track with LED
lighting.
