Brown and Caldwell VP Kelly Comstock Elected to American Water Works Association National Board

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Brown and Caldwell, a leading environmental engineering and construction
firm, today announced that Vice President Kelly Comstock has been
elected to serve on the American Water Works Association (AWWA) National
Board as the Georgia Section director.

A 20-year member of the Association, Comstock has distinguished himself
as an influential advocate for the state’s water sector. With over 23
years of experience serving Georgia communities, he has been a part of
nearly three dozen water, wastewater, reuse, and infrastructure
initiatives in the state, including the Richland
Creek Water Supply Program
, which will allow a rapidly-growing
region in the metro-Atlanta area to harness and manage an independent
water supply for the first time.

“I am honored to have been selected for this important role serving
AWWA,” said Comstock. “We are seeing significant advances in water
treatment technologies and increasing collaboration among agencies
aiming to diversify their water portfolios. Organizations like AWWA are
vitally important for facilitating dialogue, research and education
around these topics.”

As Brown and Caldwell’s Drinking Water practice leader, Comstock is
assisting in spearheading the firm’s One Water initiative to bring
creative, integrated water planning and management solutions to
communities nationwide.

Comstock is a past chair of the Georgia Section of AWWA and will serve a
three-year term on the National Board.

AWWA is an international non-profit, scientific and educational
association that was founded with the goal of uniting the diverse
spectrum of the water community to advance public health, safety, the
economy, and the environment. Its national Board of Directors comprises
60 members, including five presidential officers, six council chairs,
one Water Research Foundation chair, four directors at large, and one
director for each of the 44 sections. The Board of Directors oversees
the direction, affairs, and business of AWWA.
