Biological Industries USA Announces Mesenchymal Stromal and Stem Cell Research Award, Including Conference Travel, Laboratory Reagents, and Potential Publicity for Researchers
CROMWELL, Conn. & BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CGTWorld–Biological Industries USA (BI-USA),
the North American commercial division of Biological Industries, one of
the world’s leading suppliers to the life sciences industry, is proud to
announce the BI-USA Mesenchymal Stem/Stromal Cell (MSC) Research Award,
designed to encourage cutting-edge scientific research utilizing MSCs.
Awards for MSC researchers include BI-USA’s cell culture reagents and
services valued up to $25,000, a travel grant for attendance and
presentation opportunities at a scientific conference, as well as
scientific consultation and support for up to six months of the project
duration. Additionally, the winning researcher’s project may be featured
in promotional materials from BI-USA.
“Our MSC Research Award is intended to enable more scientists in the
field of regenerative medicine to achieve their MSC research
objectives,” commented Tanya Potcova, CEO of BI-USA. “MSCs hold
extraordinary potential for therapeutic applications through their wide
accessibility from a variety of tissue sources, ready expansion in
culture, and capacity to differentiate into multiple lineages. MSCs are
a vital tool for many regenerative medicine applications, including
tissue regeneration, drug screening and discovery, and treatment of a
wide range of immune-related diseases. At BI-USA we want to encourage
this promising research, and sponsoring this award is just one of a
variety ways we are doing so.”
BI-USA made the announcement today at the 2018 Cell
& Gene Therapy World Conference,
being held January 22-25 at the Hyatt Regency, Miami. Questions about
the MSC Research Award can be answered by the BI-USA team at Booth 107
throughout the conference.
To apply, researchers must provide basic information about their study
