AMETEK Solidstate Controls Announces DVS Power Conditioner

LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AMETEK Solidstate Controls, a leading manufacturer of industrial power
inverters and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), today introduced a
Digital Voltage Stabilizer (DVS) power conditioner designed to work in
the most-extreme environmental conditions and capable of single- or
three-phase conditioning to conserve energy.

Available now, the DVS accommodates a wide variety of incoming AC line
voltages, while regulating and conditioning the AC output to preset
limits. In a typical distribution system, the rated input voltage
usually operates at voltages slightly higher or lower than the actual
rating, affecting sensitive downstream loads. AMETEK Solidstate
Controls’ DVS fixes that issue in both single- and three-phase
applications.

“AMETEK Solidstate Controls’ DVS is a tremendous advancement in our
product line, as its ability to handle additional capabilities
outperforms its predecessors,” says Jason Cotton, Director and Business
Manager at AMETEK Solidstate Controls. “A typical isolation bypass
transformer is not sufficient to protect loads during routine or even
emergency maintenance. With our DVS, output remains consistent despite
input fluctuations, resulting in much better performance and overall
operations.”

Other features include:

  • DVS costs significantly less and is much lighter with electrical
components than systems that are fully dependent on heavy power
    magnetics.
  • Capable of exceeding 205,000 hours mean time between failure (MTBF),
DVS is twice as efficient than ferroresonant technologies.
  • DVS can be used in the bypass path of a UPS or as a standalone system
capable of up to one percent regulated output.
  • Its robust design utilizes a copper-wound, triple-shielded,
    low-impedance isolation transformer.
  • DVS incorporates state-of-the-art microprocessor technology.
