BRB launches new gear oil additive for limited slip differentials

BRB Lube Oil Additives & Chemicals, a subsidiary of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad, has introduced a new product in its Petrolad® brand family: Petrolad® 133LS, a gear oil additive booster specifically designed for limited slip differentials. 

The new additive booster, Petrolad® 133LS, works in synergy with the main additive package in automotive gear oils, delivering enhanced friction reduction and noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) control. 

“With this launch we expand our gear additive product portfolio, delivering a wider range of innovative solutions to our customers while also unlocking new business opportunities for potential customers,” said Roger Dohmen, vice president of BRB Lube oil Additives & Chemicals. 

Limited slip differentials (LSDs) were initially developed in the 1930s to combat wheel slippage under adverse driving conditions. BRB’s Petrolad® 133LS aims to provide friction reduction while maintaining the necessary compatibility with BRB’s Petrolad® 33X gear oil additive series, making it ideal for both semi-synthetic and mineral-based oils used in various vehicle applications.
