Bolloré Transport & Logistics Zambia gains TOTAL Zambia’s lubricant distribution contract

Bolloré Transport & Logistics Zambia has been awarded the tender contract to distribute TOTAL Zambia’s lubricants for five years.

Bolloré, the supply chain specialist, will provide local distribution services from TOTAL’s two main depots located in Lusaka and Ndola to 15 destinations within Zambia.

“This new contract with TOTAL gives Bolloré Transport & Logistics Zambia an opportunity to strengthen its existing relationship with a major player in the fuel and lubricants business and offers an ideal entry in the local distribution business in Zambia,” said Olivier Terra, managing director of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Zambia.

Established in Zambia in 1972, Bolloré Africa Logistics is the specialist in integrated door-to-door logistics. The company has subsidiaries in Lusaka, Livingstone, Makeni, Chirundu, Mwami, Mpika, Chanina, Mpulungu, Ndola, Kitwe and Chingola, Zambia, with nearly 20,000 square metres of warehouses and dedicate storage areas and its own truck fleet.

To meet the requirements of TOTAL, Bolloré bought three dedicated trucks of 5 tonnes, 10 tonnes and 20 tonnes. The trucks are closed body straight trucks, with floors equipped with rollers transfer/pushers and the back fitted with hydraulic tail lift system. The enhancements were necessary to be able to load and handle 210-litre steel drums, 1,000-litre Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC) and 20-litre plastic drums daily.

All three trucks come with GPS devices to provide Bolloré Logistics with real time information on trucks’ whereabouts, routes taken, fuel consumption and a wide range of reports that will allow the optimization of trips and fuel consumption.
