BILSTEIN Motorsport partners with RAVENOL for racing innovation

BILSTEIN MOTORSPORT, a leading specialist in shock absorbers and suspension systems, has entered into a multi-year technical cooperation with RAVENOL, a German lubricant manufacturer. The collaboration aims to develop high-performance solutions tailored to the extreme demands of motorsport teams and drivers.

The partnership will bring together BILSTEIN’s advanced suspension technology and RAVENOL’s expertise in high-performance lubricants. By working closely, the engineering teams will create customised solutions that optimise performance on the track.

A key element of this initiative is the use of the BILSTEIN 7-post test rig, one of Europe’s most advanced vertical test rigs, located at the BILSTEIN Competence Centre near the Nürburgring. This cutting-edge facility allows precise pre-development and fine-tuning of suspension systems for specific race conditions.

The critical role of damping oil

In motorsport, shock absorbers endure extreme stress, particularly at high temperatures on demanding tracks like the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The damping oil must maintain optimal viscosity and resist foaming, ensuring consistent gas pressure and suspension stability. The collaboration with RAVENOL provides BILSTEIN with high-performance lubricants, specifically engineered for intensive racing conditions.

As part of the agreement, RAVENOL will hold the title of “Official Lubricants Partner” of BILSTEIN, reinforcing the synergy between shock absorber innovation and lubricant technology.

Since pioneering the first gas pressure shock absorbers in 1954, BILSTEIN has become a dominant force in motorsport, securing podium finishes and championship titles across various disciplines, from rallying to circuit racing. The new collaboration with RAVENOL further cements its reputation for engineering excellence and race-winning technology.
