Bel-Ray launches new Gear Saver Synthetic Hypoid Gear Oil (EN)
Bel-Ray Company, LLC, based in Farmingdale, N.J., U.S.A., announced the release of its new Gear Saver Synthetic Hypoid Gear Oil for motorcycle transmissions and final drives. Gear Saver Synthetic Hypoid Gear Oil, which is available in 75W-90 and 75W-140 viscosity grades, is suitable for use in all motorcycle final drives and dry clutch transmissions requiring hypoid gear oil, as well as front and rear differentials, including limited slip differentials that specify API GL-5.
The API GL-5 category designates the type of service characteristic of gears, particularly hypoids, in automotive axles under high-speed and/or low-speed, high-torque conditions.
The company said that its product offers a level of protection, performance and oil service life far beyond that of mineral oils, as it is formulated with fully synthetic base oils
The synthetic hypoid gear oil features extreme pressure chemistry to prevent damage from metal-to-metal contact of sliding gear contacts, even under high shock loads, while also minimizing friction for smoother shifting and maximum power transfer.
“We developed this synthetic gear oil to help ensure that riders are always performing at their best,” said Scott Lukaitis, brand manager. “There’s nothing more frustrating than being slowed down by a rough, clunky shifting transmission,” he said.
