BASF to expand production of aminic antioxidants amid growing global demand
BASF has announced a production capacity expansion for aminic antioxidants at its manufacturing facility in Puebla, Mexico. The investment responds to the rising global demand for high-performance lubricant additives and supports the company’s commitment to supply reliability and innovation.
Set for completion in 2026, the project strengthens BASF’s role as a key supplier to the lubricant industry, particularly as market needs evolve with increasing vehicle numbers and extended oil drain intervals.
“We are dedicated to understanding and addressing the evolving needs of our customers, both regionally and globally,” said Marius Vaarkamp, business director, Components North America, Fuel & Lubricant Solutions at BASF. “Our investment in the production of aminic antioxidants for lubricants reflects our commitment to providing solutions that align with market demands.”
Aminic antioxidants are vital to improving the oxidative and thermal stability of lubricants, ensuring longer service life and enhanced engine protection. BASF’s Fuel and Lubricant Solutions business serves a broad range of sectors with products including engine coolants, synthetic base stocks, lubricant additives, and finished lubricants.
BASF continues to invest in future-ready technologies as part of its global strategy for sustainable growth in the chemicals and lubricants sectors.
