BASF, Ergon, announce price increases for lubricant additives and base oils

Effective immediately, or as existing contracts permit, Germany’s BASF said it will increase prices for  products in its lubricant components portfolio (lubricant additives and base  stocks) globally by up to 10%.

The price adjustment, which was announced on February 18, 2021, is in response to higher costs for raw materials and logistics.

On the same day, U.S.-based Ergon announced an increase in pricing of naphthenic oils in the North American market by 30 US cents per gallon effective March 1, 2021.

The price increase will apply to all viscosities.
