BASF announces new global head of fuels and lubricants
Uta Holzenkamp, senior vice president, has taken over responsibility for BASF’s global business unit Fuel and Lubricant Solutions effective 1 April 2018. She succeeds Martin Widmann who has taken on another assignment at BASF’s Care Chemicals division.
After completing her studies in organic chemistry at Ohio State University in the United States, Holzenkamp received her Ph.D. from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany.
In 1997, she joined BASF’s Pharmaceutical Research. Prior to her new assignment at Fuel and Lubricant Solutions, she was responsible for Global Strategy Isocyanates and Business Management Inorganic Chemicals at BASF’s Monomers division.
Part of BASF’s Performance Chemicals division, the global business unit Fuel and Lubricant Solutions develops, produces and markets a large number of performance chemicals for the worldwide transportation and mineral oil industries.
Product offerings include fuel performance packages, refinery additives, polyisobutenes, engine coolants (Glysantin® brand) and brake fluids as well as lubricant additives, compounded lubricants, synthetic base stocks and components for metalworking fluids.
The business unit has its main facilities in Ludwigshafen, Germany, Cincinnati and Florham Park in the U.S.A., Nanjing and Shanghai in China, as well as Sao Paulo, Brazil. Research and development is mainly driven out of Ludwigshafen, Germany, Tarrytown, U.S.A. and Shanghai, China.
