Azelis boosts Lubricants & MWF market segment with new Milan lab

Azelis, a leading distributor of specialty chemicals and food ingredients, has announced the opening of its new, state-of-the-art laboratory north of Milan, Italy, dedicated to Lubricants & Metal Working Fluids (L&MWF). The facility has been transferred to benefit from more space and from the potential to further scale its capabilities next year. The intent is to serve its Lubricants & Metal Working Fluids business in the EMEA region from this new facility.

With state-of-the-art equipment, the team can carry out, for example, precise analyses of the performance of Azelis’ products and the synergistic effects between them. They can also measure improvements in the performance of customers’ cutting fluids. The laboratory testifies to Azelis’ commitment to delivering the best services and meeting the needs of customers and principals, through training and technical consultancy activities.

The Azelis L&MWF team actively develops innovative formulations based mainly on raw materials from renewable sources and can guide Azelis’ partners towards sustainable solutions, aligned with their performance requirements. This expertise contributes to Azelis’ expanding lateral value chain and positions the company as an added-value key player in the industry—an industry where the sustainability criteria and increasingly qualitative product development are essential.

“We are proud to add this facility to our two existing Azelis laboratories in Italy, one for Agricultural & Environmental Solutions and the other for Personal Care. We are even prouder that it will serve the entire EMEA region. Since this project started, we have been able to count on a highly motivated and dedicated team in setting up this laboratory. It affirms our commitment to innovation and sustainability thanks to a comprehensive understanding of market needs, making Azelis a trusted partner for customers and principals,” said Marco Gerosa, managing director of Azelis Italy.

“The opening of this laboratory aligns with the recent inauguration of another Azelis facility dedicated to Lubricants & Metal Working Fluids in Princeton, New Jersey, strengthening our capabilities to serve our partners in the industrial lubrication sector. It is a great addition to our global network of almost 70 application laboratories, and fully in line with our innovation strategy thanks to state-of-the-art machinery that enables us to assess the specific properties of lubricants, with detailed and complex analysis of the results obtained,” said Dmitriy Tarasov, market segment director for Lubricants & Metal Working Fluids, Azelis EMEA.

Azelis operates globally, with a network that spans across Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, and the Middle East. The Milan laboratory is a part of this extensive network, contributing to the company’s global strategy of offering innovative and sustainable solutions.
