Azelis acquires DBH to expand reach in Germany, CEE
Azelis, a global provider of specialty chemicals and food ingredients, has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire the distribution business of DBH Osthandelsgesellschaft mbH, a specialist in Advanced Materials & Additives (AM&A) based in Germany and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE). This strategic move is set to enhance Azelis’ influence in the industrial chemicals sector, particularly within the AM&A segments. The transaction is expected to be finalised in the second quarter of 2024.
The acquisition not only expands Azelis’ portfolio but also strengthens its capabilities in the German and CEE regions by integrating DBH’s extensive product range and its established expertise in the rubber and plastic additives market. DBH is known for its robust relationships with blue-chip principals and a substantial customer base which Azelis aims to leverage to bolster its product offerings and market reach.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Berlin, DBH has become a leading player in the AM&A sector in Germany and the CEE. The acquisition will see Azelis welcoming 12 DBH employees, including seasoned sales specialists who support nearly 200 customers, further enhancing its operational strength in the region.
“We are thrilled to welcome the DBH team to Azelis. This acquisition represents an important step forward for Azelis, solidifying our position in the advanced materials and additives market in the EMEA region,” said Dr. Uwe Zakrzewski, managing director, Azelis DACH.
“With DBH’s expertise and strong presence in this sector, we are confident that we will significantly reinforce our footprint and enhance our ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Together, we will unlock new growth opportunities and further strengthen Azelis’ leadership in the industry.”
This acquisition is part of Azelis’ broader strategy to solidify its leadership in the specialty chemicals and additives industry by enhancing its service capabilities and market penetration in key regions.
