Aramco introduces new EVP roles in Upstream and Downstream

On August 10, Aramco, the global oil giant based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, unveiled new executive vice president (EVP) roles within its Upstream and Downstream operational divisions. This strategic decision comes on the heels of the company’s July announcement, where they introduced the positions of Upstream president and Downstream president. These roles were established to bolster Aramco’s long-term strategy, ensuring a cohesive approach across its extensive value chain and international portfolio.

The Board of Directors has given the nod to the following EVP appointments, which will be in effect from September 1, 2023:

In the Upstream segment:

– Abdul Hameed A. Al Dughaither will take on the role of EVP of Exploration, Petroleum Engineering & Drilling.

– Abdulkarim A. Al Ghamdi has been designated as the EVP of Gas. Both these roles will be under the purview of the Upstream President Nasir K. Al-Naimi.

For the Downstream division:

– Ibrahim Q. Al Buainain has been named the EVP of Global Manufacturing.

– Yasser M. Mufti will serve as the EVP of Products & Customers. Both these positions will report to the Downstream President Amin H. Nasser.

This restructuring signifies Aramco’s commitment to refining its operational strategy, ensuring that the company remains agile and responsive to the dynamic global energy landscape.
