AMSOIL acquires Aerospace Lubricants to expand grease capability

AMSOIL INC., based in Superior, Wisconsin, U.S.A., has announced its acquisition of Columbus, Ohio-based Aerospace Lubricants. Founded in 1973, Aerospace Lubricants designs and manufactures a broad array of specialised greases for various markets, including automotive, industrial, military, aerospace, and consumer sectors. This acquisition is a strategic move to bolster AMSOIL’s presence and capabilities in the specialty grease market. AMSOIL specialises in developing synthetic lubricants.

“By acquiring Aerospace Lubricants, we are acquiring a strong new partner for grease formulation and production,” said AMSOIL Chairman and CEO Alan Amatuzio. “We are going to invest in Aerospace to enhance the capabilities and capacity of the operation. Our operational excellence combined with their grease expertise will result in significant value added for Aerospace and AMSOIL customers.”

As part of the acquisition, Aerospace Lubricants will operate as an independent subsidiary of AMSOIL, retaining its name and brand identity. The company will continue to serve its existing and new customers, now with the enhanced backing and resources of AMSOIL. Dave Meyer, formerly AMSOIL’s senior vice president of Industrial, will take on the role of president at Aerospace Lubricants. He expressed his enthusiasm for the future, stating that Aerospace Lubricants “will have the backing of the AMSOIL team and resources to drive operational improvements that will deliver significant benefits for Aerospace customers.”

Outgoing Aerospace Lubricants owner, Steve Gates, emphasised the importance of maintaining the company’s core values under the new ownership. He expressed confidence in AMSOIL’s ability to uphold these values while amplifying opportunities for both the Aerospace team and its customers.
