Oiltanking opens terminal in China
Oiltanking GmbH started up a new terminal, its first in China, in the Daya Bay Petrochemical Industrial Park, Huizhou City, in Guangdong province, in July. Phase 1 of the terminal has a total storage capacity of 15,550 cubic meters. The terminal, which is connected to the CNOOC-Shell Petrochemicals Company jetty, handles all the feedstock and product storage for Huizhou MMA Co. Ltd., a producer of methyl methacrylates. With the successful start up of its terminal in Daya Bay, Oiltanking plans to further expand in the Chinese market in the near future. Oiltanking, a division of German Marquard & Bahls AG, is the second-largest independent tank storage provider for petroleum products, chemicals and gases worldwide. It owns and operates 70 terminals in 19 countries in Europe, North and South America and Asia. (July 28, 2006)
