China's Fujian province rolls out Phase III gasoline
China’s southeastern Fujian province has begun to implement the National Phase III emission standard for gasoline at six major cities on March 1. The six cities are Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Putian, Zhangzhou and Ningde. Three more cities in the province–Nanping, Sanming and Longyan–will introduce the National Phase III emission standard, equivalent to Euro III, for gasoline starting from July 1. China announced late last year that it was to implement the National Phase III standard for gasoline and gasoil across the whole country from January 1, 2010, with a transition period of six months.
