German Automakers promote clean diesel vehicles in U.S.
Six German automakers, in cooperation with the German Association of the Automotive Industry, have joined a campaign in the United States to show the advantages of diesel technologies in passenger cars over petrol engines in matters of cleanliness, consumption and performance. The campaign is called, “Clean Diesel, Clearly Better.”
A website, www.clearlybetterdiesel.com has been created to help explain the facts about the dynamics of the diesel drive train and explains the advantages of diesel in fuel consumption, refueling costs, low noise and CO2 emissions. The website also provides interested car buyers with detailed information on the latest research and development of alternative clean diesel.
As an example, the popular Mercedes-Benz GL350 BlueTEC SUV in New Orleans uses state-of-the-art clean diesel technology. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 in the 2013 GL350 BlueTEC delivers 240-horsepower and acceleration that is as quick as its gasoline counterpart. Mercedes-Benz, the pioneer of the original diesel car, has reinvented it without the noise, odor or emissions of the past. (December 24, 2012)
