Vietnam firm builds US$21.1 million ethanol plant

Quy Nguyen Co. Ltd. kicked off construction of an ethanol plant costing VND400 billion (US$21.19 million), the second of its kind in the southern province of Binh Phuoc in southern Vietnam. The plant, which will be located in Tan Tien commune of Dong Phu district, is expected to produce 150,000 liters of ethanol a day once operational in 2011, the state-run Vietnam News Agency said. The plant’s products will be used to make clean fuels and beverage for the domestic market and for export. (April 22, 2010)
