Indian Oil Corp. to market biolubricant

Indian Oil Corp. (IOC) plans to launch its first biodegradable lubricant next year, having begun research on the project two years ago, the Business Standard reported, citing a senior company executive. “Lab tests for the product are over. We are doing extensive engine trials at present. In the next year, the product should hit the market under a suitable brand name,” the website quoted the executive as saying. A biodegradable lubricant can be vegetable oil-based or based on synthetic esters. (April 22, 2010)
