Ford unveils production version of the EcoSport SUV

U.S. automaker Ford Motor Co. unveiled the production version of the company’s new EcoSport and announced plans to build the compact and fuel-efficient urban sport utility vehicle (SUV) in China, India, Thailand and South America. Aside from the modern, aerodynamic design which boosts fuel economy, the Ecosport is powered by a host of powertrain solutions, such as Ford’s latest, most technologically advanced 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine, which makes the SUV more fuel efficient. The Eco Sport also features the Ford SYNC driver connect system, a unique voice control mechanism. (April 26, 2012)
