Caltex Australia adds tanker to Sydney operations

Caltex Australia recently added a new double-hulled bunker tanker to its Sydney operations. Caltex entered into a service agreement with SVITZER for the operation of the 65-meter tanker Anatoma which can carry 1.6 million liters of fuel. The Anatoma will replace Caltex’s single-hulled Esar Sydney, which has been operating since the mid-1970s within Port Botany. Over the coming months, it will begin delivering fuel oil and marine gasoil not only to Port Botany but to Port Jackson in Sydney as well. Caltex expects the seagoing Anatoma to play an important role in refuelling coastal traders and international cargo vessels visiting Port Botany. Caltex National Manager, Lubricants & Direct Sales, Phil Amos, said that the Anatoma will also service the booming cruise industry in Sydney Harbor. Caltex’s national marine fuel business includes Bunker V, a 50-meter double-hulled bunker servicing the east coast port of Brisbane. (March 21, 2012)
