India to up capacity of crude oil reserves
The government of India has approved a plan to increase the country’s capacity of three strategic crude oil underground storage facilities by 30%, to stave off the possibility of supply disruptions. The new underground facilities are being built at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Mangalore and Padur in Karnataka. The extra capacity will bring the strategic reserve to 1.3 million tons.
