CPC to start selling low and medium sulfur fuels next year
Taiwan’s state-owned CPC Corp. will likely sell low and medium sulfur gasoil from 2011 once its new hydro-desulfurizing facility is built by the end of 2010, trading sources said. The refiner usually exports about 250,000 barrels of 0.5% sulfur gasoil every month, which normally goes into the Hong Kong marine gasoil market or blended with bunker fuel. From early next year, CPC might switch to exporting low and medium sulfur gasoil– 10 ppm, 50 ppm and 500 ppm sulfur gasoil–instead, in line with the country’s switch to Euro IV-compliant gasoline and diesel fuel in 2011-2012.
