DuPont seeks ties up with ASEAN partners
U.S.-based science giant DuPont is seeking partners in a number of countries within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN. The move is part of its plan to further penetrate markets of ASEAN-member countries and to triple its income from the region within a decade. The company is working on a 10-year investment plan for the ASEAN market, which is nearly complete. DuPont East Asia President Carl Lukach said in Bangkok that DuPont was looking for new partners in diverse fields such as oil and gas, electronics, construction, food and agriculture. The ASEAN region contributed US$900 million in company revenues last year, out of total global revenues of US$31 billion. (February 17, 2011)
