Boeing and Air China to test commercial jet biofuel
By the end of this year, Boeing Co. (BA) and Air China Ltd. will test a commercial-jet biofuel made from a locally grown plant. The test will be the sixth demonstration flight using biofuel made from jatropha, a wild green shrub that grows in southern China. BA expects that by 2015, about 1% of the jet fuel used by commercial airlines would be biofuel. (September 23, 2011)
