Foreign OEMs take lead in introducing clean diesel in Korea
Overseas automakers are introducing fuel-efficient vehicles in the Korean market at a relatively rapid clip, speeding past domestic brands in this area by unveiling new cars with improved automatic transmissions and clean diesel technology. Although hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles are receiving a fair share of the global spotlight recently, the Korean automobile industry has largely shied away from these types of vehicles. Foreign car companies are instead looking to provide environmentally conscious drivers in Korea with the option of buying cars that run on diesel fuel, rather than gasoline. (August 23, 2010)
