Eicher Trucks celebrates 25th anniversary

Eicher Trucks and Buses (ETB) are celebrating 25 years of operation this year. Since the company began operations in 1986, more than 300,000 commercial vehicles have been produced. The Pithampur-based company has a line of 5-40 ton trucks and buses. Eicher formed a joint venture with Volvo in 2008, which allowed for the use of Volvo’s technology and quality standards in the production of Eicher’s trucks and buses. Eicher currently employs approximately 10,000 people. The company is responsible for introducing tilt cabins in the Indian market. Vinod Aggarwal, chief executive officer for the joint venture company VE Commercial Vehicles said, “It is a momentous achievement for all of us at Eicher Trucks and Buses and our team in the past 25 years has contributed in enhancing customer experience through superior products and has helped us achieve a dominant space in the LD/MD segment.” (July 20, 2011)
