EPE expects investments to reach $633 billion in Brazil

Brazil’s energy research company EPE predicts that Brazil will have US$633.13 billion in investments for projects in the energy sector, including electricity, oil, gas, biofuels and ethanol and renewable energy in the next decade. Mauricio Tolmasquim states that the majority of the investment will be in the oil and gas segments of the economy. Ethanol production is expected to grow from 25-28 billion liters to 73 billion liters by 2020. In addition, electricity output is expected to grow by 61,000 MW by 2020. (July 13, 2011)
