Bansal is new chairman of Indian Oil Corp.

Brij Mohan Bansal has been named the new chairman of Indian Oil Corp., succeeding Sarthak Behuria who is retiring. Bansal was formerly the director of planning & business development for the company. Indian Oil Corp. is India’s largest commercial organization. Bansal received a degree in chemical engineering and a D.I.I.T in process plant engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. His experience includes more than 35 years in the oil and gas business. He served as the first chairman of the India Di-Methyl Ether (DME) Chapter of the International DME Association (IDA). He also serves as chairman emeritus of the Bio Diesel Association of India. Bansal will oversee IOCL’s diversification into the gas sector. He will be responsible for the company’s overseas business initiatives. (July 13, 2011)
