Bangladesh to import petroleum products from PetroChina

Bangladesh Petroleum Corp. (BPC) has taken a move to import two lakh metric tons of fuels from China for the first time to meet local demand, officials said. The initiative was taken after PetroChina International Ltd. agreed to supply fuels including diesel fuel and kerosene. A source in Chittagong said the fuels would be imported during the period from September to December this year. Meanwhile, BPC is getting supply of petroleum products from Kuwait, Malaysia , the Philipines and Egypt as per deals signed earlier, official sources said. (August 17, 2010)
