U.S. firm pushes for gas-powered tricycles

New York-based Energtek Inc. is planning to invest in the Philippine natural gas industry by pushing for the conversion of gasoline-powered tricycles to run on natural gas. Department of Energy (DOE) Director for Planning Jesus Tamang said Energtek has started demonstrating its technology using natural gas from the Isabela onshore gas field. Tamang said the company is now in the process of introducing the gas-run tricycles in Metro Manila and Batangas. (August 20, 2010)
