Sinopec Jiujiang starts gasoline hydrogenation project

Sinopec Jiujiang Petrochemical Company Ltd. started construction of a 900,000 ton per annum gasoline hydrogenation project on May 25. The project is scheduled for start-up in January 2010. Sinopec Jiujiang Petrochemical has the capability of processing 6.5 million tons of crude oil per year. Upon completion of the gasoline hydrogenation project, Sinopec Jiujiang Petrochemical will have the capability of reducing the sulfur content in gasoline to 0.015% from 0.05% and offering cleaner fuels to the Jiangxi provincial market. In addition to manufacturing oil products, Sinopec Jiujiang Petrochemical produces synthetic ammonia, urea and polypropylene. (June 16, 2009)
