Energtek to spearhead CNG conversion of tricycles
Energtek Inc., a developer of absorbed natural gas (ANG) technology, has received the go-signal from the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) to spearhead the compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion of tricycles in the National Capital Region. U.S.-based Energtek will use its proprietary CNG Lite system to convert the three-wheeled vehicles. The Natural Gas Vehicle Program for Public Transport (NGVPPT), which was passed in 2002, is a nationwide program that “aims to enhance energy supply security in the transport sector, through fuel diversification using indigenous natural gas and to use natural gas as a clean alternative fuel for transport.” (April 27, 2009)
