Gazpromneft establishes lubricants division
LLC Gazpromneft Lubricants, a subsidiary of Russian oil company JSC Gazprom Neft, will establish a business division in Omsk, called the Omsk Lubricants Plant, following a decision by the Gazprom Neft board. All the assets of the Gazpromneft Omsk Refinery involved in the production and shipment of lubricants will be assigned to the new company. Gazpromneft Lubricants is planning to introduce high-quality import substituting lubricants for the industrial and commercial sectors in 2009 through the upgrade of existing and construction of new production facilities. Meanwhile, the company also acquired an oil and lubricants production facility in Italy from Chevron Corp., which makes 30,000 tons of oil and six tons of lubricants per year. In accordance with a technology agreement, Chevron has handed over technical data and patent rights on production to Gazpromneft Lubricants. (April 14/22, 2009)
