China’s diesel rush pushes oil demand to new record
China’s apparent oil demand hit a record 9.3 million barrels per day (bpd) in November as refineries pumped out more diesel fuel than ever before to help cover shortages in the domestic market, Reuters calculations based on preliminary data showed. Crude oil processing hit a record 8.92 million bpd as refiners pulled out all the stops, reining in other product output to boost diesel production by 4.2% from October, data from China’s National Bureau of Statistics showed.
