China Clean Energy to build biodiesel plant in Fujian

Biodiesel and specialty chemical manufacturer China Clean Energy Inc. will build a new biodiesel factory at the Fuqing Jiangyin Industrial Park in Fujian province. The company said that it expects to break ground on the new factory within the next six to nine months, with construction occurring in two phases, due for completion in the first half and at the end of 2008. Each construction phase will increase the company’s annual production capacity by 50,000 tons, and is estimated to cost between US$6 million and US$9 million. The company did not provide current production figures, but added it has signed raw material agreements with Indonesian and Malaysian processors. (December 18, 2006)
