U.S., China to launch aviation biofuels initiative
The United States and China will sign an agreement to help develop biofuels for China’s fast-growing airplane fleet, U.S. government and industry officials said. David Wang, president of Boeing China, told Reuters the joint initiative would help the global aircraft industry meet its “objective of being carbon neutral in 2050”. The agreement will be announced at the high-level U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue meeting, a U.S. official said. (May 21, 2010)
