Thai Oil completes Chonburi expansion

Thai Oil Public Co. Ltd. said it has completed the 5,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) expansion of its Chonburi refinery, bringing its total capacity to 225,000 bpd. The US$3 million project involved routing hot oil from a lube base process to its crude distillation unit No.1 and using knowledge_base oil as a heating medium for crude. The company said it will boost  capacity by another 50,000 bpd at the end of next year, once it completes a capacity expansion at crude distillation unit 3; (July 6, 2006)
