Retail outlets cap sales in anticipation of price hikes

In anticipation of price hikes, petrol stations in Vietnam are either limiting customer purchases or shutting their doors temporarily.   Some of the stations that have remained open are limiting customers to two liters of fuel.  While some of the stations have cited fuel shortages or low discounts from local petrol suppliers, Phan Loi, deputy head of the An Giang Management Unit stated that there was no shortage of fuel.  He warned that, “Any gas stations found to limit or stop operations will have their licenses withdrawn.” (May 4, 2011)
