
FUCHS Lubricants acquires IRMCO® to expand industrial offerings
FUCHS Lubricants has announced the acquisition of IRMCO® Advanced Metalforming Lubricant Technologies.
IRMCO is a family-owned company based in Evanston, Illinois, established in 1914 by William O. Jeffery Sr. It specialises in the development and manufacture of oil-free metal forming and tube bending lubricants, with a strong commitment to environmentally responsible solutions.
The acquisition, effective from 1 April 2025, allows FUCHS to enhance its industrial product offerings across various markets, including automotive stamping, tube bending, appliance manufacturing, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) supplies. IRMCO’s advanced lubricant technologies will complement FUCHS’ existing portfolio, providing sustainable solutions to support the growing needs of industries worldwide.
Jeff Jeffery, CEO of IRMCO, highlighted the company’s long history of adapting to the changing demands of manufacturing markets. He noted that the integration with FUCHS will enable IRMCO’s products to reach a broader customer base in the metal forming, assembly, cleaning, and finishing sectors through FUCHS’ extensive global network.
Keith Brewer, CEO of FUCHS Americas, commented on the strategic importance of the acquisition, stating that FUCHS aims to improve the reliability, productivity, and profitability of its customers’ operations. By acquiring IRMCO, FUCHS strengthens its position as a leading provider of lubrication solutions in the industrial segment.
The transaction has been approved and finalised, marking a significant milestone in FUCHS’ expansion strategy. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
