Perstorp leadership changes as part of PCG integration

Perstorp Group, a subsidiary of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG), has announced changes in its leadership following the establishment of PCG Specialty Chemicals (PCG SC). PCG SC integrates the capabilities of Perstorp and BRB.

Perstorp is a Swedish specialty chemicals company known for its innovative chemical solutions across various industries. Founded in 1881, Perstorp specialises in resins, coatings, adhesives, plastics, and bio-based chemicals. The company is a key supplier of polyols, acids, and performance additives used in applications like automotive, construction, and healthcare.

In 2022, Perstorp was acquired by PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad, a subsidiary of PETRONAS, Malaysiaโ€™s state-owned energy company.

BRB International is a Netherlands-based global supplier of silicones, additives, and specialty lubricants. It was founded in 1981 and operates in sectors including personal care, automotive, construction, and industrial applications.

BRB is recognised for its silicone-based solutions, lube oil additives, and chemical intermediates. It was acquired by PCG in 2019.

โ€œOur ambition is clear: to become a global leading specialty chemicals company by solidifying our leadership in our four focus segments ,i.e. Coating Solutions, Engineered Fluids Solutions, Personal Care Solutions, and Advanced Polymer Solutions, while also expanding our intermediates business aggressively. Our growth agenda reflects our strong ambition and commitment to progress,โ€ said Dr. Debbie Chiu, chief operating officer of PCG SC.

As part of the leadership changes, Ib Jensen will step down as president and CEO of Perstorp Group, having successfully overseen its integration into PCG following the 2022 acquisition. Gorm Jensen, currently executive vice president for Commercial & Innovation at Perstorp, has been appointed as managing director of Perstorp Holding AB.

The leadership changes take effect from 1 February 2025.
