MAN unveils MAN Multi Fluid Monitor for predictive maintenance
MAN Energy Solutions has introduced the upgraded MAN Multi Fluid Monitor, an advanced system for continuous industrial oil monitoring. Building on its predecessor, the MAN Fluid Monitor launched in 2020, the new system expands its capabilities to include two-stroke engines, making it a valuable tool for the merchant marine industry.
To mark this major evolution, the product has changed its name to MAN Multi Fluid Monitor. The MAN Multi Fluid Monitor now functions as a multi-brand solution, offering compatibility with engines of varying generations, configurations, and fuels. Fleet managers can monitor the health of engines across an entire fleet using a single system. The monitor provides real-time, continuous monitoring of engine-oil conditions, enabling early detection of irregularities to prevent major failures and costly shutdowns.
Arnauld Filancia, president of MAN Energy Solutions France, said: “Oil contamination is a reflection of deteriorating engine health. The MAN Multi Fluid Monitor thus moves from being a specialised solution for four-stroke engines to one that can be applied globally, including to two-stroke engines and other industrial equipment. The system has already been installed on several hundred engines of different brands worldwide and is proving its worth.”
A smartphone app is also in testing, offering users access to expert recommendations and maintenance manuals, even offline. This innovation aligns with Industry 4.0, shifting from reactive to predictive maintenance, thus enhancing equipment management and operational efficiency.
MAN Energy Solutions, a leader in advanced engineering for more than 250 years, continues to empower customers in the marine, energy, and industrial sectors with sustainable solutions, driving the transition to a carbon-neutral future.
