Conqord Oil undergoes name change to Q8Oils Italia
Conqord Oil S.r.l., an Italian company specializing in the research, development and marketing of Q8Oils and Roloil branded lubricants for the automotive and industrial sector, announced a name change to Q8Oils Italia S.r.l.
This move continues the path started in 1988, when Kuwait Petroleum International acquired the ROL (Raffineria Oli Lubrificanti) and the Roloil brand, which have been present in Italy since 1933. A new company was born, whose name was chosen to celebrate the agreement between the two companies.
As a first initiative, Q8Oils Italia has decided to invest in two of its most important assets:
- Lube blending plant: an improvement has been planned in the department where the most strategic fluids are produced, namely metalworking fluids. The improvement involves the expansion of production capacity and the inclusion of new technologies and automation processes. This initiative will also bring benefits in terms of enhancement of the local territory.
- Roloil brand: a complete rebranding process has been completed. The aim is to relaunch it and equip it with new dynamic and captivating communication tools.
The tax code, VAT number, registered office and administrative office remain unchanged.
Q8Oils is part of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), ranked as the world’s seventh largest oil company. As part of the global energy industry, Kuwait Petroleum supplies the world with its vital oil and gas needs via diverse business activities which encompass all aspects of the hydrocarbon industry, from onshore and offshore exploration, to production and refining, petrochemicals, marine transportation and retailing.
Q8Oils’ lube blending plant in Antwerp, Belgium, is located by the river Scheldt, facilitating the delivery of raw materials by ship or barge. An investment of more than USD100 million over several years has made this lube blending plant the most modern in Europe. With a potential capacity of 250 million liters, it is also Europe’s largest lubricant blending plant.
