Isuzu cancels plans to produce trucks in Thailand
Japan’s Isuzu Motor Corp. has cancelled plans to produce trucks in Thailand and has delayed production of heavy-duty trucks in Russia. The company’s decision came as it re-evaluated its plans due to the dramatic decline in demand for its vehicles, as a result of the global economic recession. In related news, Isuzu Motors Ltd. and Toyota Motor Corp. announced that they have shelved plans to jointly develop and make a 1.6-liter aluminum diesel engine for vehicles to be sold in Europe.
