Solray Energy, Aquaflow Bionomic team up

New Zealand’s Solray Energy and Aquaflow Bionomic Corp. have agreed to work together to speed up their capability to clean polluted water using microalgae, which when harvested is used immediately as a feedstock for “next” generation biofuel. The purpose of the collaboration is to reconstitute two of the world’s most rapidly depleting resources: water and energy. Aquaflow has developed low-cost energy using micro algae. Solray, on the other hand, has developed a reactor and extraction process to detoxify algae. The new reactor can process several tons of harvested microalgae per day. (July 24, 2009)
