DG&I seizes smuggled goods
The Directorate-General of Intelligence and Investigation (DGI&I) of Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Karachi seized thousands of liters of smuggled diesel fuel and lubricating oil in different parts of Sindh, Pakistan. A team of DGI&I raided and seized some 30,000 liters from Sukkur and about 15,000 liters at Karachi worth millions of rupees. Sources said that some 23,707 yards of foreign origin cloth, 512 imported tires, six imported vehicles, 3,000 liters of lubricating oil from Iran, 40 cartons of Chinese electronic goods, 30 cartons of custom jewelry and a huge quantity of Indian ghutka was seized, worth Rs 18.64 million (US$223,608), from different parts of the country during the last 40 days.
